Mr. Cracker, April 1993 - June 25, 2005

On June 25, 2005, just 15 days after he was diagnosed with cancer in his leg and his lungs, we had to let our sweet, beautiful Mr. C. go. We feel so lucky to have had him as long as we did. We have eight years and four months (about 3,000 days!) worth of happy and funny memories. Read Chip's tribute to Mr. Cracker here.

"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened." - Anatole France

"The bond with a true dog is as lasting as the ties of this earth will ever be." - Konrad Lorenz

"We, who choose to surround ourselves with lives more temporary than our own, live within a fragile circle, easily and often breached. Unable to accept its awful gaps, we still would live no other way. We cherish memory as the only certain immortality, never fully understanding the necessary plan." - Irving Townsend
